In partnership with the City of Toledo, the Toledo Jazz Society, the Toledo Sculptor's Guild and the City of Toledo's Board of Community Relations, the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, Toledo, Ohio, USA, is leading the effort to raise funds for a Memorial in honor of Toledo Jazz Legend, Art Tatum. The Art Tatum Celebration Column designed by Cork Marcheschi will be a monumental addition to Toledo's Public Art Program and is intended for completion in 2009 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of this extraordinary Jazz Pianist.

Sculpture Halfway to Completion
We are pleased to inform the lovers of Art Tatum's music worldwide that the Art Tatum Memorial is in a fabrication stage. The stainless steel structure is coming to life in the San Francisco studio of artist Cork Marcheschi. We are still fundraising for this landmark and encourage fans of Tatum's music to join the ranks of donors from around the world in preserving the legacy of this peerless artist.
